Etymologie
Longus (= lang); rostris (= Schnauze), vermutlich in Anlehnung an die "stark ellipsoide" Form. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Brasilien: kommt in den Nebenflüssen des Zentralamazonas, einschließlich des Madeira- und des Negro-Beckens, in den Bundesstaaten Amazonas, Rondônia und Roraima vor.
