Typusfundort: Bach 'Chon Son' zwischen Kyondaw und Phadaw, ca. 20 km nordwestlich von Payathouzu (an der Grenze zu Thailand in der Nähe von Chedi Sam Ong, Drei-Pagoden-Pass). 15°25'N, 98°15'E (Karte), Bundesstaat Kayin, Myanmar.
Etymologie
Pictilis (= bestickt)), bezogen auf dunkelbraune dreieckige Sättel in der oberen Körperhälfte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
