Etymologie
Benannt nach der Typuslokalität, der Stadt Cituro.
Verbreitung
Sturisomatichthys citurensis kommt in den Flüssen Bayano, Capeti, Chucunaque, Cituro und Tuyra, in Panama und im Einzugsgebiet des Flusses Atrato in Kolumbien vor.
