Typusfundort: Philippines, 14°01.0'N, 120°17.1'E bis 13°59.9'N, 120°17.5'E, (Karte), aus 184-186 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Eine Kombination der lateinischen Wörter nigro (= schwarz) und marginatus (= Rand) in Bezug auf den schwarzen Streifen vorderhalb am äußeren Rand der Rückenflosse.
