Etymologie

Benannt zu Ehren von Lt. Frederick Thomas Powell von der Indian Navy, “ein Kollege des alten Marine Survey Zweiges des Dienstes von Captain [Robert] Moresby”, Hydrograph, maritimer Vermesser und Zeichner. (Übersetzt aus ETYFish Project).
