Etymologie
Abgeleitet von tardoor oder tartoor, dem lokalen Namen für diese Art in Puducherry, Indien (der Typuslokalität). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indo-West-Pazifik: Persischer Golf östlich bis westliches Indonesien.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 1.9.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Die Bedrohungen für diese Art sind unbekannt. In Teilen ihres Verbreitungsgebiets wird sie in der kommerziellen Kleinfischerei gefangen und wahrscheinlich auch in der handwerklichen Fischerei und der Subsistenzfischerei; dies wird jedoch derzeit nicht als große Bedrohung angesehen. Diese Art könnte durch die Verschlechterung der Lebensbedingungen in den Ästuaren beeinträchtigt werden, wobei das Ausmaß nicht bekannt ist. Weitere Forschung ist erforderlich.
