Typen
Lectotypus: ANSP 2993.
- Lectotypus aufgestellt von Fowler (1910: Pl. 21 (fig. 50)).
Paralectotypen: ANSP 2994-3006 (13), 3007-08 (2, verschollen), 3009 (1).
Typusfundort: St. Joseph, Missouri, U.S.A. [aktuell ist das wahrscheinlich Ost-Kansas oder Zentral-Missouri, U.S.A.].
Etymologie
Perco (= percoid, barschartig); Bromus (= ein Futtergras), Andeutung nicht offensichtlich, aber hier ist eine Vermutung: Da Copes Exemplare zusammen mit Sonnenfischen und Dartern gesammelt wurden, dachte er vielleicht, diese kleine Elritze sei "percoides Futter" (Mark Sabaj Pérez, pers. IUCN Status
Status: Stand 27.09.2018:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Es können lokale Bedrohungen existieren, aber auf einer breiten Skala sind keine größeren Bedrohungen bekannt. In Manitoba ist diese Art durch landwirtschaftliche Nutzflächen und Staudämme bedroht.
