Typusfundort: Angarko, 21 Kilometer südlich von Dilling und 100 Kilometer nördlich von Kadugli, 11°53'05.23"N, 29°42'31.82"E (Karte) , Sudan.

Etymologie

Benannt nach dem Nuba-Gebirge im Sudan, wo sich die Typuslokalität befindet (die Art kommt auch in Äthiopien vor) [der Name wurde 2003 von Bellemans bereits vorläufig veröffentlicht, wird jedoch als nicht verfügbar angesehen, da die Typusexemplare noch lebten und keine Typen hinterlegt worden waren]. Restgewässer saisonaler Flüsse des Weißen Nils im Zentralsudan und im Südwesten Äthiopiens.
