Typusfundort: Kedonganan Fischmarkt, Bali, Indonesien, 8°45′S, 115°10′E (Karte).
Etymologie
Abgeleitet vom lateinischen caeruleus (= Himmelblau) und punctum (= Punkt oder Fleck) mit Bezug auf seine blaugepunktete Färbung und einer weiteren Verbreitung als andere blau-gefleckte Formen.
Verbreitung
Die Typuslokalität von N. caeruleopunctata ist Kedonganan Bay, Bali, Indonesien. Alle N. caeruleopunctata Exemplare, die bisher gesammelt wurden, stammten von den Küsten am Indischen Ozean von Java und Bali. Vier Exemplare von N. caeruleopunctata von Puckridge et al. (2013), deren partielle CO1-Gensequenz mit dem Holotypus der Spezies identisch war, wurde in Sadang, einem Inlandort von Zentral-Java, berichtet. Jedoch vermuten Puckridge et al. (2013), dass sie von der Südküste von Java stammen.
