Etymologie
Longus (= lang); pes (= Fuß), bezieht sich auf die verlängerten Bauchflossen, deren innere Strahlen mehr als doppelt so lang sind wie der Kopf. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Westlicher Pazifik, westliches Australien.
