Etymologie

Myos (= Muskel), bezieht sich auf die dicke Muskelschicht, die den Schädel von Myoglanis potaroensis bedeckt; glanis (= Wels (Silurus glanis), wird jetzt als allgemeine Bezeichnung für Welse verwendet. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
