Etymologie

Mustura ist eine Kombination aus dem griechischen Wort musterion (= Mysterium) und dem Gattungsnamen Schistura (selbst basierend auf schistos (= geteilt) und oura (= Schwanz)). Eine Anspielung auf die mehrdeutige Geschichte der meisten Arten in der Gattung.
