Etymologie

Benannt zu Ehren von George Latimer Bates (1863-1940), kamerunischer Landwirt und Ornithologe, der für das Natural History Museum (London) Typusexemplare sammelte, darunter auch die Typusexemplare dieser Art. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Kamerun und Gabun: Ntem River in Gabun und Kamerun sowie die Flüsse Campo, Ivindo, Lobe, Nyong und Sanaga in Kamerun.
