Etymologie
Maculo- (= gefleckt), vermutlich als Hinweis auf großen schwarzen Fleck auf der Rückenflosse und/oder große dunkle Flecken auf den Brustflossen von Cheilopogon suttoni; coetus (= Etymologie nicht erklärt, vermutlich die Kurzform für Exocoetus. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
