Etymologie
Benannt nach dem "guten" Freund und Mitarbeiter der Autoren, Dr. Carlos Luis DoNascimiento Montoya, um seine vielen und fortwährenden Beiträge zur Entdeckung und zum Wissen über neotropische siluriforme Fische zu würdigen.
Verbreitung
Tieflandflüsse und Freiwasserseen des Amazonas- und Orinokobeckens in Brasilien, Peru und Venezuela.
