Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Staat Surinam, in dem sich die Typuslokalität befindet.
Verbreitung
Küstenbecken von Französisch-Guayana und Surinam (Paramacca und Maroni-Becken), und aus den unteren Rios Tapajós, Tocantins und Xigu-Becken, Pará, Brasilien.
