Etymologie
Profusus (= häufig oder reichlich), als Hinweis auf das häufige Vorkommen in der Sandbodenzone.
Verbreitung
Weit verbreitet im Ostindischen Archipel: Indonesien (Bali, Sumbawa, Komodo, Alor, Nord-Sulawesi, West-Papua), Philippinen (südliches Luzon), Papua Neuguinea (Provinz Milne Bay und Rabul, Neubritannien), Solomonen (Guadalkanal).
