Typusfundort: In der Nähe von Miranda, 20°11'78"S, 56°30'13"W [ (Karte)], Rio Miranda, Bundesstaat Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasilien.
Etymologie
Bezogen auf den Pantanal Matogrossense von Brasilien, die hydrologische Region der Typus Lokalität (kommt aber auch in Paraguay und Bolivien vor). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Parana-Paraguay-Flusssystem von Brasilien und Paraguay, Chapare-Mamoré-Fluss, Bolivien; Argentinien.
