Verbreitung
Riesiges Verbreitungsgebiet in Europa und Asien: Becken des Kaspischen und Schwarzen Meeres, Ost- und Nordseebecken; Grossbritannien. Im Norden bis ca. 69°N in Skandinavien. In Asien im Aralseebecken, das Becken des Arktischen Ozeans nach Osten bis zum Einzug des Kolyma. Eingeführt oder invasiv in Frankreich westlich des Rheins, in Norditalien, Nord-Großbritannien und Griechenland. Eingeführt in die Region der Großen Seen in Nordamerika.
