Typusfundort: Zentral-Kalimantan, Teweh River oberhalb des Dorfes Lampeong II, Einzugsgebiet des Barito, Borneo.
Etymologie
Pictus (= bemalt), in Anlehnung an sein charakteristisches Farbmuster unter sundaischen Arten (außer Glyptothorax decussatus), mit markanten dunklen vertikalen Balken auf Höhe der Fettflossenbasis und der Schwanzflosse. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
