Etymologie
Ignitus (= glühen (eines Feuers)), unter Bezugnahme auf seine "flammenartigen Schattierungen". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indischer Ozean: Malediven östlich bis Sumatra (Indonesien).
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 22.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Pseudanthias ignitus ist wahrscheinlich durch die lokale Degradierung der Riffe infolge von Küstenentwicklung und Verschmutzung beeinträchtigt worden. Diese Art wird wahrscheinlich auch für den Aquarienfischhandel gesammelt, allerdings gibt es derzeit keine Hinweise auf einen signifikanten Rückgang der Population.
