Typusfundort: Südwestliches Mittelmeer, Tiefe 500 Meter.

Verbreitung
Eutelichthys leptochirus ist endemisch im westlichen Mittelmeer, wo sie vor Algerien, Frankreich), Italien und Spanien registriert wurde.

Status: Stand 17.08.2018: DD Data Deficient (ungenügende Datengrundlage)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Diese Art wird nicht kommerziell genutzt. Es gibt keine bekannten, artspezifischen Bedrohungen für Eutelichthys leptochirus.
