Etymologie
Di- (= zwei); keraus (= gehörnt), bezieht sich auf einen langen oberen präoperculären Stachel, einen auf jeder Seite, wie die Hörner eines Stiers. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Nordpazifik und angrenzende Arktis: Japanisches Meer und Ochotskisches Meer nördlich bis Beringmeer und Tschuktschensee, dann östlich bis zum südöstlichen Alaska (U.S.A.).
