Etymologie

Eleginus, ein von Aristoteles erwähnter Schwarmfisch, der sich wahrscheinlich darauf bezieht, dass Eleginus nawaga große Brutschwärme unter dem Eis bildet, die sich in den Netzen der Industriefischerei verfangen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
