Etymologie
Diplos (= doppelt); mystax (= Schnurrbart oder Oberlippe), in Anlehnung an zwei große Bartstoppeln auf der Oberlippe (von Duméril 1856 war zuvor der volkstümliche Name Diplomyste geprägt worden). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
