Typusfundort: Südwestlicher Indischer Ozean, 33°16'42"S, 43°41'00"E (Karte), Tiefe 900-920 Meter.
Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Forschungsschiffs "Vityaz" (auch "Vitiaz" geschrieben), von dem aus viele der Typusexemplare gesammelt wurden. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Südwestlicher Indischer Ozean: Madagaskar und am südwestindischen submarinen Rücken sowie vor den St. Paul- und Amsterdam-Inseln, in Tiefen von 410-1000 m.
