Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des österreichischen Entomologen Walter Wilson Froggatt (1858-1937), "auf den die gesamte Last des Sammelns der zoologischen Exemplare gefallen zu sein scheint, die während der letzten Expedition der Bonito [die Neuguinea erforschte] gewonnen wurden".

Indonesien: Provinz Papua; Papua-Neuguinea und Nordaustralien.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 4.09.2023:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Gegenwärtig gibt es keine größeren Bedrohungen für diese Art. Im gesamten Verbreitungsgebiet wird sie durch Subsistenz- und kommerzielle Fischerei gefangen. Der beobachtete Rückgang dieser Art in Teilen der Flussgebiete des Fly River Systems in Neuguinea ist jedoch wahrscheinlich auf minenbedingte Auswirkungen zurückzuführen.
