Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von William Beverly Scott (1917-2014), Kurator für Ichthyologie und Herpetologie, Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto, Kanada), der Emery erstmals in das Studium der Fische einführte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westatlantik: Südflorida, USA und Karibik bis Nordbrasilien. An kontinentalen Standorten häufiger.

Status: Stand 3.1.2021:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art wurde als Nahrung des invasiven Feuerfisches (Pterois volitans) nachgewiesen.
