Typusfundort: Australien, West-Australien, North West Cape, Lighthouse Bay, -21.801°, 114.121° (Karte), 18 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Benannt nach ihrem geografischen Verbreitungsgebiet, das auf das Sahul-Schelf beschränkt ist, den Teil des Kontinentalschelfs, der vor der Nordwestküste Australiens liegt.
Verbreitung
Derzeit nur aus Nordwestaustralien bekannt. Das dokumentierte Verbreitungsgebiet erstreckt sich von der Umgebung von Evans Shoals vor Melville Island, Northern Territory südwärts bis zur Shark Bay Region in Westaustralien, ein linearer Pfad von ungefähr 2.650 km.
