Typusfundort: Sansibar, Tansania, westlicher Indischer Ozean.

Verbreitung
Weit verbreitet im Indischen Ozean, wo diese Art von der Ostküste Afrikas bis zur Andamanensee und vor Westaustralien verbreitet ist. Nicht aus dem Roten Meer oder dem Persischen Golf festgestellt.
