Typusfundort: Spanien, Balearen, Mallorca, 39°51.11'N, 003°28.26'E (Karte), in Rotalgen Feldern, aus 67 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Die Spezies wurde nach Dr. Enric Massutí benannt, ein Forscher des Instituto Español de Oceanografía im Centre Oceanogràfic de les Balears, in Anerkennung für sein Engagement für das Studium der benthischen Lebensräume in den zirkalitorischen Böden der Balearen.
Verbreitung
Buenia massutii ist bisher nur aus Rotalgen Feldern im Mittelmeer, um die Balearen Inseln Mallorca und Menorca, aus 50 bis 80 m Tiefe bekannt.
