Etymologie
Aspilos (= ungepunktet oder makellos), bezogen auf einen gleichmäßig bräunlichen und ungepunkteten Körper im Vergleich zu dem gefleckten, aber ansonsten ähnlichen Brachirus pan. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Südöstlicher Indischer Ozean und westlicher Pazifik: Derzeit bekannt aus tropischen bis subtropischen Gewässern, berichtet aus Japan, dem Ostchinesischen Meer, Taiwan, den Philippinen, Vietnam, Singapur, Indonesien, Papua-Neuguinea, Samoa und Australien.
