Etymologie
Nanus (= klein), bezieht sich auf die geringe Größe.
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer, Indo-Westpazifik: Weihnachts- und Kokos-Keeling-Inseln östlich bis zu den Hawaii-Inseln, Linieninseln, Marquesas-Inseln und der Pitcairn Gruppe, nördlich bis Japan, südlich bis zu Neukaledonien und Tonga.

Status: Stand 1.02.2021:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
