Etymologie
Belone (= gr. für Nadel), vermutlich in Anlehnung an die langgestreckte Körperform und/oder an Meernadeln, dem deutschen Namen für diese und ähnliche Arten; ichthys (= Fisch). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
