Etymologie
Das Epitheton brasiliensis bezieht sich auf das Land, in dem die Art gefunden wird.
Verbreitung
Bathygobius brasiliensis wurde an Riffkämme und -böden gesammelt und aus flachen Tidetümpeln, überall in Fernando de Noronha und Atol das Rocas, bis in 3 m Tiefe. Sie wurde allein beobachtet, in Paaren oder in großen Gruppen von bis zu 20 Individuen, oft an Riffkämmen mit rauhem Seegang und schließlich über Sandböden.
