Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des Grundeltaxonomen Frederik Petrus Koumans (1905-1977), Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie (Leiden, Niederlande), für seine Arbeiten über die Grundeln Ostindiens.
Verbreitung
Indonesien, Thailand, Vietnam und Malaysia: flache Küstenhabitate und Brackwasser.
