Benannt zu Ehren von George Masters (1837-1912), Kurator des Macleay-Museums der Universität Sydney, dem Ogilby "viele wertvolle Informationen über die ihm unterstellte Sammlung verdankt und dessen Allgemeinwissen über die australische Fauna wohl von keinem übertroffen wird".
