Etymologie
Von –icus (= gehört zu): Aquitanien, Region Südwestfrankreichs, wo die Art entdeckt wurde. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Europa: Frankreich. Vorhanden in den Becken Charente, Dordogne, Eyre und Adour. Der Mouriscot-See ist der derzeit südlichste bekannte Fundort.
