Typusfundort: Snapper-Banks vor Pensacola, Florida, USA (als Mageninhalt eines Lutjanus vivanus).
Etymologie
Benannt nach Lutjanus vivanus, in dessen Magen das Typusexemplar gefunden wurde.
Verbreitung
Westatlantik: Von Kanada über North Carolina und dem nördlichen Golf von Mexiko bis nach Brasilien.
IUCN Status
LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet) Mögliche Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art ist an einigen Orten durch eine Verschlechterung des Lebensraums aufgrund der Zerstörung von Oculina durch den Schleppnetzfang auf Garnelen bedroht. Dies wird jedoch nicht als signifikante Bedrohung der Gesamtpopulation angesehen, da diese Art auch in anderen Lebensräumen vorkommt. Sie wurde als Beute des invasiven Feuerfischs aufgezeichnet, es werden jedoch nur Jungtiere erbeutet, und es ist unwahrscheinlich, dass dies zu einem signifikanten Rückgang der Gesamtpopulation führen wird. |
