Etymologie

Verbreitung
Die Art bewohnt den nordöstlichen Teil Ecuadors in den Provinzen Sucumbíos und Orellana in Systemen, die zum Rio Napo abfließen. Es gibt ein Exemplar (ein Jungtier), das aus dem Rio Curaray in der Provinz Pastaza kommt. Anscheinend ist diese Lokalität die südliche Grenze. Auf der anderen Seite gibt es keine Exemplare aus der Provinz Napo. Diese Ergebnisse scheinen darauf hinzudeuten, dass die Art niedrige Höhenlagen in den Einzugsgebieten bevorzugt.
