Etymologie
Shiro und anago, japanisch für Weiß- und Conger Aal, (obwohl Asano die Farbe in Formalin als "blass braun oben, blasser unten" mit "blassen" Flossen) bezeichnete. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Nordwestpazifik: Japan, Südkorea und Taiwan.
