Typusfundort: Italien: Tortonesischer Ton bei Alba, Tanaro Fluss (massive Tone, 5 m stromaufwärts des Referenz Sandstein Vorsprungs).

Etymologie

Das Art-Epitheton stammt vom lateinischen biobtusus, was "auf beiden Seiten stumpf" bedeutet, es deutet auf die stumpfen vorderen und hinteren Ränder der Otolithen hin.
