Etymologie
Von leptos (= dünn); oura (= Schwanz), bezogen auf den vergleichsweise schlankeren Schwanzstiel, seine Höhe misst nur 1/20 der Standardlänge. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Oberer Amazonas und Orinoco Flussbecken: Kolumbien, Ecuador und Venezuela.
