Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des Zoologen Giacoma Doria (1840-1913), Präsident der Italienischen Geographischen Gesellschaft, der in Persien (heute Iran) Fische sammelte und sie an das Britische Museum (Naturgeschichte) schickte, darunter auch den Typus dieser Art [obwohl nach einem Mann benannt, latinisierten einige klassisch ausgebildete Zoologen die Namen von Personen, deren Namen mit dem Buchstaben "a" endeten, indem sie ein "e" an die Schreibweise anfügten].
