Etymologie
Von sclero- (= zäh oder hart); ptera (= Flosse), bezogen auf verdickte und sklerotisierte letzte unverzweigte Strahlen an Rücken- und Afterflossen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
China: Fluss Huanghe, Cocha Seen (Meer der Sterne), Gyaring-Ngoring-Seen sowie Qinghai See.
