Verbreitung
Indo-West-Pazifik: Westlicher Persischer Golf (Kuwait, Saudi-Arabien), nördlicher zentraler Indischer Ozean und nach Osten bis nach Japan und Queensland, Australien.
IUCN Status
LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet) Mögliche Gefahren für diese Art: Hippichthys penicillus kann durch die anhaltende Verschlechterung und den Verlust von Seegras- und Mangrovenlebensräumen infolge von Küstenentwicklung und Umweltverschmutzung bedroht sein. Seenadlen werden im Allgemeinen häufig als Beifang in der Schleppnetzfischerei gefangen und / oder als Aquarienfische und in traditionellen Arzneimitteln verwendet. Diese Art kann für eine solche Ausbeutung anfällig sein, aber das Ausmaß der Entnahme aus der Natur ist unbekannt. |
