Typusfundort: Bow River an der Kreuzung Nicholson-Wyndham Highway, Westaustralien.
Etymologie
Der Name kimberleyensis bezieht sich auf die Typusregion der Art, die Kimberley-Region von Westaustralien.
Verbreitung
Im gesamten Verlauf der Flüsse Durack, Pentecost und Ord in der östlichen Kimberley Region (Westaustralien).

Status: Stand 15.01.2018: NT Near Threatened (potenziell gefährdet)
