Typusfundort: Lilly (Barramundi) Lagoon in der Nähe des Barramundi Creek, einem Nebenfluss des South Alligator River, Northern Territory, Australien.
Etymologie
Der spezifische Name butleri ehrt Dr. William Henry "Harry" Butler, einen populären Naturforscher und Mitglied der American Museum of Natural History-Australian Expedition von 1969.
Verbreitung
Kommt in Flüssen im Northern Territory von Adelaide bis Goyder River vor.
