Typusfundort: Guinea-Bissau, 230 km südwestlich von Bissau, östlicher Atlantik, 10°26'06"N, 17°06'39.6"W - 10°25'15.6"N, 17°06'25.2"W (Karte), Tiefe 222 Meter.
Etymologie
Flavus (= gelb); strigatus (= gestreift), bezieht sich auf die gelben Streifen auf der zweiten Rückenflosse.
Verbreitung
Ostatlantik: Guinea-Bissau bis Angola.
