Etymologie

Benannt zu Ehren des deutschen Zoologen Ludwig Döderlein (1855-1936), der 1883 eine detaillierte Beschreibung und Abbildung dieser Art (als Megaperca ischinagi, = Stereolepis gigas) lieferte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Nordwestlicher Pazifik: Bekannt aus Russland (Japanisches Meer), Korea und Japan, in Tiefen um 400-600 m; südöstliches Taiwan vor Taitung in einer Tiefe von etwa 400 m.
